Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a chronic condition affecting the large intestine, with signs and symptoms of cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation or both. It is one of the most common conditions encountered in the primary care clinic, and often difficult to treat, since it can vary in symptoms. About 10-15% of the adult population has the disease. Many people suffer from chronic pain and discomfort that gets in the way of their daily routine. There are certain food triggers, but also stress and environmental triggers. It is also very connected to mental health, like anxiety and depression. There are many ways to manage this lifelong condition, from lifestyle changes to medications, to treating underlying conditions that worsen the disorder.

EASITx is a clinical trial for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The goal of this study is to test the effectiveness of a new, smartphone-based digital IBS treatment program. With your help, we will be able to find more convenient, effective, and efficient ways to treat symptoms experienced due to IBS.
