Since we first opened our doors in 2016, we have been lucky enough to grow as a company and we are very thankful! Our goal for 2020, is to pay it forward. Today we premiere Elevated Health’s 12 Months of Giving! For each month this year, we will be picking a non-profit to donate to and feature on our website. Our community is very important to us and we want to to see it grow! January’s non-profit was submitted by Pam Skinner, of Picky Pam at the Beach Fame and a patient at Elevated Health, who after reading our newsletter announcement submitted this amazing organization.
Now, without further ado, we have chosen Robyne’s Nest, a Huntington Beach organization dedicated to helping struggling students. Continue to read our short Q & A below to learn more:
Q: What led you to create Robyne’s Nest.
A: Robyne’s Nest was created by Robyne Wood, a Huntington Beach wife and mother of two young children, to help provide funds and resources for high school administrators to take care of these students and create a path to the successful completion of high school. Many students are struggling when it comes to basic support from their parents for such needs as food, housing, mental health, academics, and even safety. Many of these students want help and that is why they continue to go to school looking for some security, routine and a place to belong.
Q: How long has Robyne’s Nest been in existence?
A: Robyne’s Nest was started in April of 2015 and started working directly in the schools in August of 2015.
Q: In your opinion, what is the most rewarding aspect of your organization?
A: The most rewarding aspect of the work Robyne’s Nest does is seeing the transformation of our students from lost, confused, traumatized souls to hopeful, self-confident, happy young adults creating a real, self-sufficient, productive life for themselves using the resources we offer them. They do the hard work to change and fix themselves, not Robyne’s Nest.
Q: Any upcoming announcements?
A: Robyne’s Nest will be having their Annual Family Fun Day on May 16th from 9-2pm at Fountain Valley High School. Come out to learn more about Robyne’s Nest, enjoy BBQ, local vendors, kids games, skills clinics offered by FVHS Athletics Dept. and more.
Q: Any last words?
